Our Favorite New Tech for Photographers: Stay Focused on Your Clients, Not the Chaos

We're officially kicking off Season 3 of The Edit Weekly, yay! This season we’ll be sharing practical tips, expert interviews, and real stories from photographers just like you. For our first episode, we wanted to start by sharing something that's been helping us a ton lately. It's not new cameras or lenses, but tech tools that make running a photography business easier.

We know how distracting, noisy, and overwhelming this work can be. It could be kids running around during a family session, loud receptions at weddings, or just trying to edit at home with a full house; staying focused is hard. That's why we wanted to bring these tools to all of you here! If something is helping us feel calmer, more present with clients, and more confident in our businesses, we want you to know about it too!

👉 Watch or listen to the full episode here to hear the whole conversation.

Whitney's Sanity Saver: AirPods Pro

Whitney talked about how AirPods Pro have been a total game-changer. Not only do they cancel out noise while working, but they can also make it easier for you to stay present at loud events, such as weddings.

Here are just a few ways they can help you:

  • Many of us work in loud, overstimulating environments, and they can help you focus on the task at hand. This is especially helpful for those of us who are neurodivergent or overly stimulated.

  • During a wedding, not only can it help you feel calmer, but it's also an easy way to communicate with an assistant and second shooter without having to pick up your phone.

  • The new AirPods Pro 3 can translate other languages to yours, which can be especially useful at weddings!

Amanda's Favorite Surprise: Ray-Ban Meta Glasses

Amanda never thought she'd buy these, but they've turned into a powerful tool for capturing behind-the-scenes content without awkward setups or distracting clients.

Here are some ways they can help you:

  • Create seamless behind-the-scenes videos & stills of your clients.

  • These glasses make it easy to share your work process without pulling kids' attention or making clients uncomfortable.

  • Similar to the AirPods, you can also take phone calls with them and translate conversations to your native language.

New Meta Glasses Have Just Been Released

And in perfect (or imperfect!) timing, two days after we recorded this episode, Meta announced their newest Ray-Ban Meta glasses with upgraded audio, better cameras, longer battery life, and AI-powered features. You can check them out here.
